In-Cosmetics 2010: record number of visitors

With more than 7,800 visitors, this year’s In-Cosmetics trade show, held April 13 to 15 in Paris, France, enjoyed record-breaking attendance. The booths of Cognis Care Chemicals and its active ingredients business Laboratoires Sérobiologiques (LS) were completely full with visitors on all three days. “There was a great deal of interest in our new products and formulation concepts,” says Ulrich Issberner, Global Marketing Personal Care. “The wellness and sustainability trends are still the major drivers of the personal care market, and Cognis provides innovative ideas and solutions that help its customers to serve these trends.”

Taking visitors on a journey around the world. Many visitors accepted Cognis’ and LS’ invitation to go on “A Beauty Adventure Around the World”. This new concept shows how Cognis helps manufacturers to meet the specific needs of consumers in different parts of the world. It includes a range of innovative formulations, and also informs manufacturers about new technologies, regional trends and ingredients sourced from around the globe.

More options for serving green trends. Manufacturers who visited the Cognis booth were also brought up to date on new options for formulating solutions that are both environmentally sound and high performing: the “Free Your Formulation” concept includes the company’s range of natural or naturally derived high-performance alternatives to synthetic or mineral-oil based ingredients.

A difficult trip back home. When In-Cosmetics 2010 closed its doors, both visitors and exhibitors were faced with another kind of adventurous journey: flight cancellations caused by the dust cloud from Iceland’s Eyjafjallajökull volcano affected many people’s trips back home. The German Cognis team thankfully got back eventually by train and car.
