Minesite services program
The Minesite Services Program (MSP™) is the cornerstone of Cognis' technical service efforts. It is a multi-faceted approach to the needs of the customer. The MSP™ program can be specifically tailored to meet the individual needs of the customer's site. Some of the individual elements of the MSP™ program are:
- Computer Modeling to Define Improved Plant Flowsheets: The effect of a wide range of reagent, plant and pregnant leach solution parameters on plant operation can be explored and optimized using Cognis' Isocalc™ computer modeling program. Cognis' Metcalc™ modeling program is used to prepare engineering design and cost analysis.
- Continuous Circuit Evaluations at the Laboratory and On-Site Pilot Plant Scale: Continuous circuit evaluations can be carried out at both the laboratory scale and larger
on-site pilot plant scale to aid in development of design data for full scale plant construction or to aid in optimization of an existing plant operation.
- Analysis of Circuit Organics and Aqueous Streams: Detailed analysis of plant circuit organics and aqueous streams can be carried out using a wide variety of techniques to determine the causes of operational problems such as slow phase separation.
- Continuous Improvement of Plant Performance: Cognis engineers work with the customer to improve plant performance by use of improved organic recovery/regeneration systems, computer modeling of the SX process, evaluation and testing of process parameters, and plant trend analysis.
- Custom Training Classes: Customized training classes either on-site or at a Cognis facility provide plant operators and metallurgists up-to-date information tailored to meet the needs of their operation.
- On-Site Engineer, Full or Part-time: Depending on the requirements of the individual operation, Cognis will supply an MSP™ engineer to work part or full-time on the minesite.
These efforts are supported by a network of laboratories/training centers located in key mining areas around the world. Primary support is provided by MCT laboratories in Tucson, Arizona, USA, and Antofagasto, Chile as well as laboratories located at affiliated Cognis locations in Australia, Ireland, and Germany. MCT's principle R&D laboratory in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, is also available for many of the unique analytical needs of our customers.
When necessary, MCT can draw on the talents of Cognis experts in a wide range of technologies from around the globe to solve customer problems.
