Cognis at the 12th IUPAC International Congress of Pesticide Chemistry

Experts from Cognis Functional Products’ AgroSolutions business will introduce their new Greenovating solvent solutions at this year’s IUPAC International Congress of Pesticide Chemistry. “Our high-performing green solutions for plant protection product formulations are designed to serve as safer alternatives for the agrochemical industry – and to meet its requirements in terms of both performance and sustainability,” comments Ingo Fleute-Schlachter, Global Platform Leader Agro Technology, who will be presenting at IUPAC. Cognis’ Greenovating concept defines seven areas that are relevant to current and future market trends – application, health, safety, degradability, toxicity, efficiency, and labeling – which the company focuses on when developing new solvents.

This year’s IUPAC congress will take place from July 4 to 8 in Melbourne, Australia. The theme of the event is “Chemistry for a Sustainable World”, which refers to the huge challenge of providing food for a growing global population, and the role of high-performance agrochemicals in meeting this challenge.

High-quality scientific debate.
IUPAC’s scientific program will look at various ways of ensuring a future agricultural production is sustainable, and will include an extensive poster display. Topics include emerging social issues, pest management and crop protection, formulation and delivery, environmental fate and safety, regulatory issues and residues. Attendees can also look forward to interactive sessions, where they will have the opportunity to discuss a wide range of current issues.
